POLICE: Houston man was selling cocaine in Port Arthur bar restroom

A 21-year-old Houston man who was allegedly selling cocaine in a restroom in a Port Arthur bar was indicted this week on a felony drug possession charge.

A Jefferson County grand jury indicted Alexander Gutierrez on a second degree felony charge of possession of cocaine for an incident that occurred Nov. 4.

According to the arrest warrant, Port Arthur Police Department officers responded to Dylan’s Bar and Grill, 8601 9th Avenue in reference to drug-related activity.

Staff told police there was a man distributing narcotics inside the restroom at the bar.

An officer reportedly found Gutierrez inside the restroom and was given verbal consent to search the man.

A clear plastic bag containing a white powdery substance believed to be cocaine was found in his left pocket. The substance was seized and weighed in at 12.24 grams, according to the court document.

Alexander was booked into the county jail and bonded out the same day on a $20,000 bond set by a judge, according to information from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
