Mrs. Mary Singleton, of Port Arthur died Thursday at The Medical Center of Southeast Texas.

A native of Port Arthur, Texas, she was a resident of Port Arthur for 91 years. Mary was a devoted wife and mother and enjoyed being with her family.

She took great pride in being the Secretary of the MLK Support Group of Southeast Texas upon its establishment in Port Arthur, Texas. Mary was also a member of the Knights of Peter Claver Ladies Auxiliary.

A visitation is scheduled from 9 A.M. until 11 A.M. Friday, July 31, 2020 at Gabriel Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral service is scheduled for 11 A.M. Friday at Gabriel Funeral Home Chapel with Father Anthony officiating.

Burial will follow in Live Oak Cemetery.

Survivors include: her children Deborah (Frank) Frugie of Beaumont, Tx, Diane Strother of Port Arthur, Tx, Bernadette Coleman of Port Arthur, Tx, and Dwain Singleton of Houston, Tx; nine grandchildren.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents Joseph “Robert” and Louise Chretien, husband Joseph Henderson Singleton, sisters and brother Viola Landry, Maudry DeShields, Beatrice Creecy, Louise Chretien, Junius “Robert” Chretien, and son Reginald Singleton.
