LETTER TO THE EDITOR — No need for Port Arthur school name changes

I cannot believe the people of Port Arthur would want any more name changes to our schools.

To some of us, Thomas Jefferson High School and Lincoln High School are our history and we are proud to have graduated from those locations.

Why do we need to destroy history because a few want that to happen?

If the people of Port Arthur bow down on the name changes, it would be a sad day.

It is hard to understand how an all Black school board would even consider changing the name of Lincoln off what was a proud name in history and for a high school.

And if it does happen, I suggest a total recall for the PAISD board.

It’s time for the Moral Majority to stand up and stop the madness.

So if you want to hold on to the school names, write, text or call the district. Call President Brandon Bartie.

Warren Grammer,
