James C. Washington, 99, of Port Arthur, TX passed away Tuesday, July 7, 2020 at The Medical Center of Southeast Texas.

A lifelong resident of Port Arthur, he was a 1939 graduate of Port Arthur Colored High School.

He was a United States Army veteran, a retiree of Gulf Oil Corporation and a member of Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Pernella Washington.

“Simp” is survived by a devoted niece, Diana Martin; and a host of nieces, nephews, neighbors, Bumblebee nation and friends.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, July 18, 2020 at Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church with visitation from 1 p.m. until service time.

Entombment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
