4 assailants rob pizza delivery driver at gunpoint in Groves

GROVES — A group of four young men, two of whom displayed guns, robbed a pizza delivery driver in Groves as he was walking back to his vehicle, police said.

Authorities are continuing to seek information that leads to the arrests of the armed robbers.

Groves Chief Deputy Kirk Rice said the aggravated robbery happened at 12:52 a.m. July 3 as the driver was walking back to his vehicle in the 3200 block of Woodlawn.

He told police he was approached by what he described as four young Black males. One of the men put an unknown object to his back, which he recognized to be a gun. He was told to “give me everything you got, give me everything you got.”

The second suspect brandishes a black pistol and pointed it directly at the driver, at which time he felt his life was in danger, Rice said. The second suspect told the driver to “come on, give it up” several times while pointing the gun at him.

The four men let with an undisclosed amount of money in what appeared to be a white Hyundai passenger vehicle. The victim was not able to provide a license plate.

All of the males were described as being of slender build.

Suspect one was wearing a light blue mask with black, white and red hoody, black and red shoes and dark jeans.

Suspect two, the one who pointed the weapon at the victim, was wearing a black mask, black hoodie, black jeans and black shoes.

Suspects three and four were wearing white masks, but the victim was not able to describe what they were wearing, Rice said.
