She met and married the love of her life, J.D. Norwood.

She worked for Port Arthur Teachers Federal Credit Union.

She was very involved in the community, from volunteering in Port Arthur schools, founding board member of Mardi Gras of Southeast Texas, to being honored to help at her church, Saint Catherine, in any way needed.

Barbara was a people person, always had a smile on her face, always trying to help others and always made everyone around her feel special.

One of her biggest life enjoyments was being involved with anything that her grandchildren were doing.

She became known as “Granny” to everyone that met her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother Gerald Viator.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Toya and Merv Hebert; granddaughters Chrissy Huotari; Amy Hill – husband Travis; and grandson, John Hebert-wife Leslie.

She leaves behind great grandchildren: Mackenzie Huotari, Bailey Huotari, Arinn Hebert, Aidenn Hebert, Lillian Hill, Lauryn Hill and Riley Hill.

A Memorial Mass we be celebrated 2:00 pm Monday, July 13, 2020 at St. Catherine of Sienna Catholic Church, where the family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until the service hour.

Please join the family in prayer as they celebrate her life.
