Local students earn Alpha Kappa Alpha awards, scholarship

Three local graduating seniors are benefiting from Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority scholarships.
The Sorority’s Epsilon Theta Omega Chapter recently announced the scholarship and grant recipients from the 2020 graduating classes of Memorial High School and Woodrow Wilson Early College High School.
Sorority leaders said the students demonstrated achievement in academics, leadership and involvement in school and community activities.
Those receiving awards include Kaila Jackson of Woodrow Wilson and Alanna Lewis of Memorial, each receiving the Epsilon Theta Omega Chapter Family Endowment Grant.
Phuong Khuu of Memorial received the Epsilon Theta Omega Chapter Community Scholarship.
