Health departments: Mid-County, PA coronavirus confirmations jump 13 percent on Tuesday

Mid-County and Port Arthur confirmed 42 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, health officials said.

Of the 320 total cases of coronavirus reported in the four cities since the spread began this year, 13 percent were reported Tuesday, according to numbers supplied by the Port Arthur and Jefferson County health departments.

The City of Port Arthur Health Department received confirmation of 21 additional Port Arthur residents who tested positive for COVID-19.

These individuals include two females between 10-15, one between 15-20, one between 20-25, three between 30-35, one each between 45-50; 50-55; 60-65; and 65-70.

The other individuals include two males between 5-10; one between 10-15; two between 20-25; two between 30-35; one each between 35-40; 40-45; and 65-70.

This brings the total to 191 Port Arthur residents who have tested positive for COVID-19 since testing started in the city of Port Arthur.

The Port Arthur and Jefferson County Health Departments received confirmation of seven additional positive COVID-19 cases in residents of Groves.

The individuals include four females between the age ranges of 20-25; 40-45; 50-55; and 60-65.

The other three individuals are males between the age ranges of 25-30; 35-40; and 65-70. This brings the total to 42 individuals who have tested positive for COVID-19 for the city of Groves since testing began.

The health departments received confirmation of ten additional Port Neches residents who tested positive for COVID-19.

The individuals include six females. Three are between the age ranges of 15-20, one between 25-30, and two between the age range of 45-50.

The other individuals are two males between 25-30, one each between the age ranges of 35-40; and 45-50.

This brings the total to 33 Port Neches residents who have tested positive for COVID-19 since testing began.

The City of Nederland received information that the number of total positive COVID-19 test results increased to 54 (four new positives case). This means there are a 34 reported active cases in Nederland.

“We ask that people follow the health guidelines prescribed by the State of Texas, specifically hand washing, social distancing and wearing a mask when out,” a statement from the city of Nederland said.
