Port Arthur, Groves & Port Neches confirm 21 new COVID-19 cases

More than 20 new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed Monday in Mid-County and Port Arthur, health officials said.

The City of Port Arthur Health Department received confirmation of ten additional Port Arthur residents who tested positive for coronavirus disease.

These individuals include five females between the age ranges of 5-10; 15-20; 20-25; 45-50; and 65-70.

The other individuals include five males between the age ranges of 15-20; 20-25; 30-35; 40-45; and 55-60.

This brings the total to 171 Port Arthur residents who have tested positive for COVID-19 since testing started.

The Port Arthur and Jefferson County health departments also confirmed of seven additional positive COVID-19 cases in residents of Groves.

The individuals include five females between the age ranges of 20-25; 25-30; 40-45; 45-50 and 75-80.

The other individuals are males between the age ranges of 55-60 and 60-65.

This brings the total to 35 individuals who have tested positive for COVID-19 Groves since testing began.

Also today, the health departments received confirmation of four additional Port Neches resident who tested positive for coronavirus disease.

The individuals include two females between 15-20; and one between 60-65.

The other individual is a male between the age range of 20-25.

This brings the total to 23 Port Neches residents who have tested positive for COVID-19 since testing began.

For confidentiality purposes, the health departments are not releasing any additional information to identify this individual.

In Nederland on Monday, city officials said the National Guard Mobile Testing Team tested 106 people.

“We want to thank the National Guard Mobile Test Team for their hard work,” the City of Nederland announced. “And we want to also thank the Nederland Heritage Festival for the use of their property. The individuals who tested should get their results in 3-4 days.”
