The City of Port Arthur and its Water Utilities Department announced Monday morning that city “water remains safe for consumption and for general use.”

The public service announcement followed requests about issues with taste and odor in our water supply over the past few weeks.

“Water Purification and Water Distribution professionals are working together to ensure that all areas of the city are flushed adequately, as well as applying mitigation procedures to prevent future issues,” a statement issued from Cheryl Gibbs said. “We thank you for your patience.”

City leaders ask community members to call 409-983-8550 if having taste or odor issues, adding the area will be flushed and sampled.
