Ruby Elizabeth Myers, 96, of Port Neches, Texas passed away Friday, June 12, 2020 at Brookdale Assisted Living in Corsicana, Texas.

Ruby was born March 8, 1924 in Lake, Mississippi to the late William and Effie Jones.

She was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church in Nederland.

Ruby began nursing school in 1977 and retired from Park Place Hospital after 20 years of service as a registered nurse.

She was an avid reader and enjoyed knitting.

Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, William H. Jones and Effie Agnes Shankle Jones; husband, Robert Owen Myers; daughters, Patricia Ann Gibson and Rowena Francis Dupuis; granddaughter, Karmen Nicole Dupuis; 4 brothers and 5 sisters.

She leaves behind her children, Martha Petit and her husband, Louis of Texas City, TX; Darwin Myers and his wife, Donna of Corsicana, TX; grandchildren, Jeanne Payne, Gene Dupuis and his wife, Brendie; Leslie Sonnier and her husband, Jacob; Kristi Walker and her husband, Dale; Aaron Myers and his wife, Caitlin; 6 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; sisters, Georgia Virginia Hoffpauir, Jewell Herring and her husband, Howard; Betty Kirkpatrick; brother, David Jones and his wife, Joanne to cherish her memory.

A gathering of friends and relatives will be held Tuesday, June 23, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland.

A graveside service for Ms. Ruby will be held at 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, June 23, 2020, at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches.
