NEDERLAND — Nederland Police are investigating a reported sexual assault that occurred June 10.

Police were called at 6:15 p.m. to the 1500 block of South 27th Street, where a woman said she had been sexually assaulted by an acquaintance that was at her house.

Nederland Police Chief Gary Porter said the alleged crime occurred several hours before the call was made, which is fairly typically in sexual assault cases.

A sexual assault exam was performed on the victim, he said.

No arrests have been made and the case remains under investigation.

Porter said police are not releasing a description of the suspect.
