Leonard Lee LeDay Sr., 62, of Port Arthur, Texas entered into rest on June 10, 2020.

He was born on June 13, 1957 to the union of Gustave and Vella LeDay.

He attended Stephen F. Austin High School and Stilwell Technical Center.

He worked several jobs to support his family – Gulfport Shipbuilding, Inc., Port Iron & Supply, and retired from Shell Oil as an operator with 20 years of service.

Leonard was funny, always willing to lend a helping hand wherever needed, talkative and enjoyed working with his hands.

He also enjoyed watching boxing.

Leonard is preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Shirley Provost and Gwenda LeDay Dixon; two brothers-in-law, Alcee Coleman and Wallace Provost; one nephew, Carl Gray; one great-niece, Jasmine Lorthridge and one great-nephew, Savion Lorthridge.

He leaves to cherish his memories his devoted wife of 43 years, Janice.

Two children were born to their union, Trina Marie Bendy (Marlon) and Leonard Lee LeDay, Jr. (Victoria); grandchildren, Lyric Como-LeDay, Italia Bendy, Julian LeDay, Kiara Veltz, Jasmine, Michael and Jada; his siblings, Gus LeDay III (Audrey), Annie Daniels (Michael), Geraldine Coleman and Brenda Conner; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Monday, June 15, 2020 at Gabriel Funeral Home Chapel, with visitation from 9 a.m. until service time.
