Groves hosting COVID-19 test collection site Wednesday; Port Arthur hosts testing Tuesday & Thursday

GROVES — The City of Groves will host a COVID-19 mobile test collection site on Wednesday.

The Texas Department of Health Services will staff the site.

To site is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday by appointment only at the Groves Senior Citizens Center, 5649 W. Washington Blvd.

Residents with signs and/or symptoms of the COVID-19 virus are asked to call 1-512-883-2400 or visit txcovidtest.org.

The Port Arthur Health Department has partnered with Riceland HealthCare to provide COVID-19 test for individuals who want to be tested.

Testing will take place Tuesday at the Westside Development Center, 601 W. Ransom Howard Drive (7th Street), and again on Thursday at the Port Arthur Civic Center for individuals who wish to be screened for the COVID-19 disease.

Those interested must call (409) 983-8800 to register between the hours of 8 a.m.-5 p.m.

In this effort, participants should follow these guidelines:

  • Please bring insurance documentation. Please note that if an individual does not have insurance, he, or she is still eligible for testing. Representatives will give specific details upon registering for testing.
  • All persons must call (409) 983-8800 to be scheduled for testing. Every effort will be made to accommodate the best time and day for each individual.
