Any secondary student — middle and high school — in danger of being retained or having credit deficiencies is required to participate in the Secondary Virtual Summer Instruction program.

Classes for middle and high school students are offered Monday through Thursday, beginning June 8 and ending July 2.

Parents of students required to participate in this program must register their child by completing the online application located on the district webpage.

To be successful with the virtual learning platform, parents and students should:

  • Establish a daily routine for your schoolwork. The academic day for summer school is from 8 a.m. – 2 p.m.
  • Perform academic tasks, as outlined by teachers, and seek each teacher’s help as soon as needed.
  • Follow the Honor Code at all times, regarding work and online conduct.
  • Follow the norms of communication set by your teacher(s). Participate in a phone, email or video “check-in” with teacher(s) at least once a week. Set up a Class DojoAccount if you are the parent of an elementary student.
  • Be mindful of the Grading System for the Virtual Summer School Program, as shared in this online registration form. Make sure you complete ALL assignments by the due date. Remember, a score of 100 can only be earned when all assignments are completed by the due date (secondary) or with substantial participation on the elementary side.
  • Take special care of any Chromebook or laptop checked out and return it to the school on the date and in the manner requested by summer school administrators.
