Port Arthur Police arrest 1 after Sunday shooting leaves victim injured

On Tuesday evening, Port Arthur police announced gun violence that occurred more than two days before on Sunday afternoon resulted in the arrest of one suspect and injuries to another male.

Det. Sadie Guedry said police responded to a 911 call of shots fired in the 2600 block of 62nd at approximately 2:35 p.m. Sunday.

Upon arrival, Guedry said officers located a male who had sustained a gunshot wound. The victim was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police did not update his health status Tuesday evening or share where the victim was shot.

According to authorities, a suspect was located and arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Police did not indicate when the suspect was arrested or release his name.

This shooting is under investigation by the Criminal Investigations Division of the PAPD.
