Port Arthur chapter of Delta Sigma Theta names scholarship winners, Ideal students, senior Delta GEMS

The Port Arthur Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. is recognizing its 2020 scholarship recipients, Ideal Students and Delta GEMS.

Due to the COVID-19 virus, the annual May Week awards celebration has been cancelled.

The 2020 scholarship recipients are Brianna Nicole Bush, Chloe Guidry, Kaila Symone Jackson and Brianna Lynn Julun.

Brianna is the daughter of Tricia Bush and James Bush. Brianna is a senior at Monsignor Kelly Catholic High School and plans to attend Prairie View A&M University. She plans to be a clinical psychologist.

Chloe is the daughter of Yvonne Wesley and Charles Guidry. Chloe is a senior at Woodrow Wilson Early College High School and plans to attend Lamar University and Texas Southern University. She plans to be a criminal defense attorney and a public community leader.

Kaila is the daughter of Cheniqua Mann-Rice. Kaila attends Woodrow Wilson Early College High School and plans to attend Prairie View A&M. She plans to be a licensed nurse practitioner.

Brianna is the daughter of Crystal Kemper and Brandon Julun. Brianna attends West Brook High School and plans to attend Prairie View A&M. She plans to work for a major broadcasting network, radio, newspaper or magazine.

The 2020 Ideal High School students are: Jacob Anderson, Wilson Early College; Micah Anderson, Memorial High School; Jonah Andrews, Wilson Early College; Bey’Ounce Banks, Wilson Early College; Joshua Dennis, Wilson Early College; Kanacha Gordon, Wilson Early College; Chloe Guidry, Wilson Early College; Kaila Jackson, Wilson Early College, Erisha Jones, Memorial High School; Seanlexcia Jones, Wilson Early College; Alanna Lewis, Memorial High School; Jazmine Miles, Wilson Early College; Harold Mosley III, Wilson Early College; Jatavian Neal, Wilson Early College; Alexander Ned, Memorial High School; Heather Perrault, Wilson Early College; Heaven Perrault, Wilson Early College; Elysian Thomas, Wilson Early College.

The senior participants in the sorority’s youth group, Delta GEMS, are: Bey’Ounce Banks, Aniyah Brannon, Brianna Bush, Cierra Carrington, Audrey Chavez, De’Janique Jones, Kynnedi Jones, Brianna Julun, Destini Lester, Deja’Lynn Smith, Bryanna Stevenson, Makaiya Tompkins, Shi’ya Toson, Capri Wilson, and Derriona Zeno.
