Taylor Rodriguez, whose body was found in a wooded area off Twin City Highway last week, likely died from a stab wound to the upper thigh area, Port Arthur Police Det. Mike Hebert said.
The information comes from a preliminary autopsy report.
Further details are not available at this time.
The body of Rodriguez, 23, a Port Arthur transient, was discovered just before 1 p.m. Wednesday in a wooded area behind Precision Tune near Walmart in the 5000 block of Twin City Highway.
Not long after the discovery police arrested the victim’s companion, Lachrisha Abshire, 33, also a Port Arthur transient.
She remains in custody on a $1 million bond.
