COVID-19 cases top 70 in Port Arthur, Mid-County

More than 70 cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Port Arthur and Mid-County residents, health officials announced.

A daily update Thursday evening indicated 45 Port Arthur residents had tested positive for coronavirus, with 14 Nederland residents also testing positive.

Groves has seven positive cases, while Port Neches is reporting six cases.

The Southeast Texas Regional Emergency Operations Center said the numbers for COVID-19 positive test results are reported by area public health departments.

If you would like to be tested for COVID-19,  call 409-550-2536 for an appointment. After testing, you will be required to self-isolate until test results have been returned.

The Call Center is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Testing is free for everyone.

The Call Center has received 6,108 calls since opening, with 186 calls received Thursday and 132 on Wednesday.

3,777 patients have been tested since the Call Center opened, health officials said.
