Ms. Emmy Arelia Burns, 43, of Port Arthur, TX passed Sunday, April 5 at Baptist Hospital in Beaumont, TX.

Emmy was a resident of Port Arthur for 40 years and was a graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School and Lamar University Port Arthur.

Since early childhood, Emmy attended her family’s church home of Eastern Star Baptist Church.

Emmy is now home with her parents CMSgt James Burns, USAF, Retired and Mrs. Laura Burns.

She is survived by sister, Lisa Hall of Kathleen, GA and brother, James A. Burns of Austin, TX as well as her niece and nephews.

A private visitation and graveside service was held at Greenlawn Memorial Park.

The family sends a special thanks to Ms. Emmy’s “Sisterhood” of dear friends who have been her “family” as well as to those relatives, church family, friends, neighbors and caregivers who have blessed her and our parents for so many years.
