More than 60 confirmed COVID-19 cases in PA, Mid-County

More than 60 confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been reported for residents of Mid-County and Port Arthur, health officials announced Wednesday evening.

According to the Southeast Texas Regional Emergency Operations Center, Port Arthur has 36 confirmed cases.

In Mid-County, Nederland has the most confirmed cases with ten. Groves follows with nine, and Port Neches has six.

Health officials said the hotline number of 409-550-2536 fielded 172 calls today.

After testing, residents are required to self-isolate until test results are returned.

The Call Center is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday. If you call after hours, leave a message with a name and phone number. Someone will call the next morning to schedule an appointment for testing.

Health officials stress testing is free for everyone.
