Health officials reported four new cases of confirmed COVID-19 in the communities of Port Arthur and Mid-County in the last 24 hours.

According to the Southeast Texas Regional Emergency Operations Center, cases in Port Arthur jumped from 32 to 33, Port Neches from five to six and Nederland from seven to nine. Groves stayed the same at seven.

The City of Nederland continues to report one more case than the Emergency Operations Center, noting Monday afternoon that city residents had sustained 10 positive coronavirus cases.

Nederland officials said 123 residents have been tested in total, and six locals have recovered from their positive diagnoses.

The Call Center is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday. If you call after hours, you will be directed to leave a message with name and phone number. If you feel like it is an emergency, call 911. Testing is FREE for everyone.

Help for newborns

The Port Arthur Health Department announced it is offering vaccinations to newborns ages 2, 4 and 6 months, by appointment, only.
