NEDERLAND — For the second day in a row, the City of Nederland and Southeast Texas Regional Emergency Operations Center are sending out conflicting reports on the amount of local residents that have tested positive for COVID-19.

The City of Nederland’s Thursday report says seven local residents have tested positive. The Emergency Operations Center says six have tested positive.

The rest of the reporting for Mid-County and Port Arthur remains largely unchanged from 24 hours previous, with Port Arthur moving from 25 to 26 confirmed coronavirus cases.

Groves remained at six and Port Neches remained at five.

The Port Arthur Health Department said its latest local COVID-19 confirmation is an individual between the age range of 45-50. She is quarantined at home and cooperating with local health officials.

Those experiencing symptoms such as cough, shortness of breath or fever are asked to call 409-550-2536 for an appointment to be tested for COVID-19.
