Cases of COVID-19 jump in Mid-County from Friday to Saturday

Area confirmations of COVID-19 cases top 40 in Port Arthur and Mid-County.

Port Arthur jumped three cases from Friday to Saturday and now sits at 25, Groves bumped one and now have six confirmed cases and Port Neches went from three to five cases.

Nederland, where officials are launching a two-week city employee stay-at-home work plan, remain at five confirmed cases.

In Jefferson County, there are 125 confirmed cases, with two cases impacting those ages 10 or under and four cases impacting those 81 or older. The age range with the most confirmed cases is 61-70, which has 25 confirmed cases.

The exact numbers are a compilation of results from different health departments and may not be 100 percent accurate, according to the Southeast Texas Regional Emergency Operations Center.

The Center summarizes and consolidates information related to COVID-19 activities in Hardin, Jasper, Jefferson, Newton, Orange and Tyler counties.
