More than a dozen cases of COVID-19 confirmed in Port Arthur, Mid-County

The combined number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Port Arthur and Mid County jumped to 13 on Thursday, according to information released by the Southeast Texas Regional Emergency Operations Center.

Port Arthur has nine cases, Nederland has three and Groves has one.

The Operations Center summarizes activities and developments related to COVID-19 in Hardin, Jasper, Jefferson, Newton, Orange and Tyler counties.

The Call Center received 141 calls Thursday — 77 were tested at the drive-through site in Nederland and 29 were tested at the drive-through site in Hardin County.

Those experiencing symptoms (fever, dry cough, shortness of breath) or think they have been exposed to an infected individual can call 409-550-2536 to be evaluated for testing.

The Call Center is open 24-hours, seven days a week.
