Ervin C. Washington, known as Fass or Black, a native of Port Arthur, Texas, was peacefully called into the presence of the Lord on Monday, March 23, 2020.

He was a faithful member of East Mount Olive Baptist Church and a 1967 graduate of Lincoln High School.

Ervin was honorably discharged from the United States Army in 1971.

He held numerous laborer jobs with local refineries in the City of Port Arthur and surrounding area.

Preceded in death by his father, Jimmy Washington; mother, Bernetha “Bert” Nickles; brother, Carl Diles and Jimmy Washington, Jr.; sister, Rebecca Ann Giles.

Fass/Black is survived by his sister, Carolyn Washington-Wright; sister-in-law, Willie Diles; aunt Erma Jean Jones; extended family Linda Sallier and his beloved pet Bailey, nieces, nephews, and a host of cousins and friends.

Fass/Black never met a stranger and will be long remembered for his zest for life and living, his fashion savvy and his famous saying “Been around the world once and met everybody twice.”

Gravesite services will be at Houston National Cemetery.
