All Bob Hope Schools will close immediately in response to the coronavirus, the charter school system announced Sunday.
BHS is aiming to resume classes on March 30, according to a statement on its website. It will also relay information regarding the use of “low-tech and high-tech support” and child nutrition as quickly as possible.
The open letter addressed to Bob Hope parents, families and community reads:
“Our top priority is the health and safety of our studnts and staff, and we take this responsibility seriously. As the 2019 novel coronavirus (COVID-19) remains a concern in Texas and across the globe, we want to provide families with updated information. Bob Hope Schools will be providing updates as necessary on our website and Facebook page.
“We appreciate all feedback from parents, board members, students and staff. After much research and reviewing our travel survey, ALL BOB HOPE Schools will close all facilities immediately. Currently, we hope to resume normal schedules on Monday, March 30th, 2020. Information regarding allowing students to use low-tech and high-tech support as well as child nutrition will be relayed as soon as possible. SAFETY is our number-one concern. This is a community effort, and we appreciate all parents, board members and staff support.
Bob Hope School’s leadership committee is continuously meeting to determine the next steps to provide education, food and safety concerns to parents, staff and our community.”
