Port Neches police seeking to ID robbers who stole $1,200

PORT NECHES — Port Neches Police are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the men who distracted a store clerk and stole cash.
The incident happened March 4 at Hello Food Mart, 1309 Magnolia Ave. The first man, who was wearing a light colored shirt and dark pants, entered the store and informed the clerk of his gas spill in the parking lot, according to Det. Scott Thompson.
The clerk then left the building. This individual was reported to have been driving an older model compact vehicle, grey in color.
A second person, wearing dark colored clothing, then entered the store from the north side of the building and stole a bank bag containing approximately $1,200.
Thompson said the store was empty when the second suspect ran in and rifled in the manager’s office and found the bank bag.
