Shots were fired during a brazen, daylight armed robbery Thursday in Port Arthur, authorities said.
According to Matt Bulls of the Port Arthur Police Department, two males entered EZ Pawn, 3427 Twin City Highway, and began attempting to break the glass jewelry cases to steal the property protected by the cases.
PAPD officers were alerted to the robbery in progress at 10:15 a.m. Thursday. Bulls said one of the men was armed and fired several rounds during the robbery.
According to authorities, no arrests were immediately made.
A Port Arthur Police spokesperson would not say if any injures were sustained during the robbery but did confirm no one was shot.
Several members of the Port Arthur Criminal Investigations Division arrived and assisted in the investigation, along with a Crime Scene Technician, police said.
