Man indicted for Avery Trace Apartments killing; indictments listing released

BEAUMONT — A Jefferson County grand jury indicted Kylan Deion Bazile, 22, of Beaumont in the October fatal shooting of DeShandric Ji’Shaun Clayton.

Clayton, 23, was shot down while in a breezeway at Avery Trace Apartments, 4020 FM 365 in Port Arthur. Witnesses told police that a maroon passenger car reportedly driven by Bazile and occupied by two other people passed by and started shooting at Clayton, according to a probable cause affidavit.

Clayton, 23, of Port Arthur was struck, causing him to fall to the ground. He was later pronounced dead at a hospital.

A suspect vehicle was located shortly after at Prince Hall Apartments. Police said the vehicle was registered to Bazile and further evidence showed him to be driving at the time of the shooting.

Avery Trace Apartments has been the site of violent crimes in the past; some of which include the 2018 shooting death of Joseph Boudreaux, 25, and the 2017 shooting death of Javonte Jack, 20.

Other individuals indicted on Wednesday include:

  • Jeffrey Mark Thibodeaux, 56, of Beaumont was indicted for misapplication of trust funds for an incident that occurred from Aug. 7, 2018 to Dec. 18, 2019.
  • Sheena Ernestine Pitre, 36, of Beaumont was indicted for deadly conduct for an incident that occurred Dec. 31.
  • Nicholas Kane Villarreal, 20, of Beaumont was indicted for injury to a disabled individual for an incident that occurred June 19.
  • Demarcus Lee Senegal, 36, of Beaumont was indicted for deadly conduct for an incident that occurred Dec. 9.
  • William Blade Broussard, 19, of Hamshire was indicted for felony theft (aggregation amounts) for incidents that occurred from on or about Jan. 1, 2018 to on or about Oct. 31, 2019.
  • Daniel Dwayne Smith, also known as Daniel Dewayne Smith, 36, of Hamshire was indicted for felony theft (aggregation amounts) for incidents that occurred on or about Jan. 1, 2018 to on or about Oct. 31, 2019.
  • Brad Thomas Thibodeaux, 48, o Winnie was indicted for felony theft (aggregation amounts) for incidents that occurred from on or between Jan. 1, 2018 to on or about Oct. 31, 2019.
  • Gerald Wayne Evans, 29, of Port Arthur was indicted for unlawful possession of a firearm by felon for an incident that occurred Nov. 8.
  • Jeremy Pernell Brandon, 26, of Port Arthur was indicted for unlawful possession of firearm by felon for an incident that occurred Nov. 10.
  • Kayla C. Binning, also known as Kayla Binning and Kayla Chantalle Casey, 36, of Vidor was indicted for credit/debit card abuse for an incident that occurred Sept. 17.
  • Amanda Lee Garrison, 42, of Beaumont was indicted for driving while intoxicated with a child passenger for an incident that occurred Dec. 9.
  • Frank Addison Patillo IV, also known as Frank Addison Patillo, 53, of Beaumont was indicted for evading arrest/detention with previous convictions for an incident that occurred Aug. 9.
  • Kevin William Pehm, also known as Kevin Pehm, and Kevin Bradley Pehm, 38, of Beaumont was indicted for unauthorized use of a vehicle for an incident that occurred Dec. 9.
  • Danielle Lee Wyatt, 41, of Port Arthur was indicted for felony theft with prior theft convictions for an incident that occurred Dec. 26.
  • Donovon Don’t’ae Zeno, 29, of Beaumont was indicted for evading arrest/detention use of a vehicle for an incident that occurred Dec. 17.
  • Jose Hugo White, 42, of Port Arthur was indicted for possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, for an incident that occurred Sept. 3.
  • Louis Derrick May,40, of Groves was indicted for possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, for an incident that May 5.
  • Jessica Brooke Willis, 30, of Silsbee was indicted for possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, for an incident that occurred April 10.
  • Gohn Claude Thompson, 23, of Port Arthur was indicted for possession of a controlled substance, tetrahydrocannabinol, for an incident that occurred Feb. 3, 2019.
  • Bruce William Lane, 30, of Beaumont was indicted for evading arrest/detention with previous convictions for an incident that occurred April 11.
  • Melvin Howard, also known as Melvin Howard Jr., 46, of Beaumont was indicted for possession of a controlled substance, cocaine, for an incident that occurred July 14.
  • William B. Jones, also known as William Bernard Jones, 40, transient, was indicted for evading arrest/detention with previous convictions for an incident that occurred March 24.
  • Keevon Burns, 24, of Beaumont was indicted for evading arrest/detention use of a vehicle for an incident that occurred July 25.
  • David Lee turner Jr., also known as David Lee Turner, 45, of Beaumont was indicted for possession of a controlled substance methamphetamine, for an incident that occurred Oc. 3.
  • Jamie-Lee Sharlie Donley, 35, of Orange was indicted for possession of tetrahydrocannabinol for an incident that occurred May 8.
  • Charles Orlando Betancourt, 34, of Port Neches was indicted for possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, for an incident that occurred June 18.
  • Jontae Jaquan Carriere, 18, of Beaumont was indicted for possession of a controlled substance, tetrahydrocannabinol, for an incident that occurred April 30.

Althea M. Christian, 54, of Beaumont was indicted for possession of a controlled substance, cocaine, for an incident that occurred Nov. 10.

  • Raven Bernesha Christian, 24, of Beaumont was indicted for possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, for an incident that occurred Aug. 11.
  • Frank William Hogan, 55, of Beaumont was indicted for possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, for an incident that occurred July 13.
  • David C. Lewis, 37, of Beaumont was indicted for possession of a controlled substance, phencyclidine, PCP, for an incident that occurred July 28.
  • Ursula Courtney Osteen, 40, of Groves was indicted for possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, for an incident that occurred Sep. 23.
  • Jacoby KcKinsley Polidore, 31, of Beaumont was indicted for possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, for an incident that occurred Sept. 5.
  • Vicente Ramirez, 24, of Beaumont was indicted for possession of a controlled substance, cocaine, for an incident that occurred Sept. 3.
  • Ted Sewell Sr., also known as Ted Sewell, 64, of Beaumont was indicted for possession of a controlled substance, cocaine, for an incident that occurred Sept. 5.

An indictment is not a final conviction of guilt; it is only a ruling by the grand jury that allows the district attorney’s office to proceed with a criminal case.
