Jewel Lee Freeman Sr. departed his life here on earth Sunday, February 2, 2020.

Jewel was born June 11, 1935 to Odis and Willie Bell Simpson Freeman in Holly, Louisiana.

He married Rosie Lee Atkins on May 21, 1957.

He joined Shilo Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. Wesley Harris Sr. and was a faithful servant under the current leadership of Rev. Samuel Joseph Sr. until his health failed.

Jewel retired from the City of Port Arthur.

He is preceded in death by his parents, son Steven, two brothers, and one sister.

He leaves to cherish his memories his wife of 62 years Rosie Lee Freeman; children; Jewel Jr., Clay, Chuck, Eunice, Cherita, Hope, and Virginia; three sisters; two brothers; grandchildren,
great-grandchildren, a great-great grandchild, a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be on Friday, February 7, 2020 at Shilo Baptist Church at 11:00 am with viewing from 9 a.m. until service time.

Burial will follow at Live Oak Cemetery.
