TJMS students earn high rankings in Region X Vocal Solo & Ensemble

VIDOR — Fourteen Thomas Jefferson Middle School students represented the Port Arthur ISD at the Region X UIL Vocal Solo & Ensemble Contest Saturday at Vidor Junior High School.
Under the direction of Lynne Wittung, six students received a Superior (I) ranking and eight students received an Excellent (II) ranking. All of these students sing in the Grade 3 solo class.
The students who earned a Superior ranking, with the grade level, title of solo for each:
- Naomi Dugas, seventh, “Scarborough Fair”
- Jamiling Vela Cruz, eighth, “Scarborough Fair”
- Chi Truong, seventh, “Shenandoah”
- Dylan Nguyen, seventh, “Shenandoah”
- Josue Torres, eighth, “Shenandoah”
- Ariya Gillespee, eighth, “To the Sky”
The students who earned an Excellent ranking, with the grade level and title of solo for each:
- Amanda Troung, seventh, “Scarborough Fair”
- Harmoni Ivory, eighth, “Scarborough Fair”
- Linh Le, seventh, “Shenandoah”
- Kiana Ledoux, seventh, “To the Sky”
- Nicole Gonzalez, eighth, “Angels Through the Night/All Night”
- Cam’Ren Guillory-Rainge, eighth, “Shenandoah”
- Akeelah Lejan, seventh, “Shenandoah”
- Dacotah Collins, eighth, “Scarborough Fair”
