UPDATE: Local woman in serious condition after car hits her
A Port Arthur woman was hospitalized in serious condition Thursday night after a vehicle struck her, authorities said.
The woman was attempting to cross the road at approximately 10:05 p.m. in the 2600 block of Memorial Boulevard when the collision occurred.
According to the Port Arthur Police Department, the victim was taken to a local hospital with serious bodily injuries. An update on her condition was not available at press time.
Police are not releasing any information on whether the driver was cited for the collision nor are they providing the name of the driver or the victim.
“We are not releasing any of that information, not only to show empathy for the victim but we also don’t want to injure the investigation,” PAPD Det. Sadie Guedry said.
PAPD’s Advanced Accident Investigation Team and Criminal Investigations Division are working the case.
