The clerk was injured and Acadian Ambulance was called to the scene but the victim did not go to the hospital, police said.

“The suspect had gone inside the business and it’s believed he did not sign in,” Guedry said referring to a sign-in list customers use.

The robber got away with an undetermined amount of money from the clerk.

Law enforcement was able to develop a suspect, identified as Javante Bailey.

Anyone with information that could lead to the location of Bailey is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 409-833-TIPS, www.833TIPS.com or download the P3 app on a smart device. You will not be asked for your identity and could be eligible for a cash reward.
