Details are sparse in a drive-by shooting that occurred in the vicinity of a school and a church Monday night.
Port Arthur police said they are early into the investigation that began with a call of a suspicious person in the 3000 block of South Park, which is near Tyrrell Elementary School and Iglesia Apostolic Church.
A short time after the call, police dispatch was notified that several shots were fired at that location.
PAPD Det. Sadie Guedry said an unknown amount of shots were fired that struck a home. No one was injured during the shooting and police have not released information regarding a motive for the shooting.
Police also did not comment on the caliber of weapon used in the shooting.
Police do believe the call of a suspicious person and the shooting are related but did not elaborate.
PAPD’s Criminal Investigations Division is handling the case.
