Jakobi Xavier Mitchell assumed his position as God’s angel on November 25th, 2019.

Jakobi Mitchell was born on February 20, 2002 to Monica J. McNabb and Kenneth J. Mitchell in Port Arthur, TX.

Jakobi was baptized at Greater Mt. Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church at an early age and where he was a member until his death.

He and his family moved to Houston, TX at the age of 2, where he attended elementary and middle school.

Jakobi was currently a senior at Cy-Park High School.

He loved playing basketball and he had dreams of furthering his education at Prairie View A&M University pursuing a career in Engineering.

He was employed by HEB stores in Katy, TX.

Jakobi was a “quiet soul” who set a great example for his siblings and brought great joy to his parents.

Jakobi was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Martha Mae Williams and Sampson Mahoney; paternal grandfather, Robert Joseph Mitchell; and uncle, Anthony McNabb.

Jakobi leaves to mourn and cherish his fond memories with his loving mother, Monica Ford and husband, Lionel A. Ford III “Lil Ricky”; his father, Kenneth Mitchell (Aredasha); brothers, Jalen Shamer Mitchell, Jordan Dominick Ford, Florentino English-Ford, Braylon Ford, Kenneth Mitchell II, Patrick Mitchell and Kaden Mitchell; sisters, Jas’lyn Charrisse Ford and Deanna Mitchell; step-brother, Rashad Ross; his grandmothers, Estelle “Ida” Dorsey-Yowman and Connie Williams; great grandparents, Joseph and Celestine Harrison; uncles, Willie McNabb Jr., Michael Mitchell (Ebony), Dr. Ronnie Mitchell (Patricia), Corey Ford, Alex Williams; aunts, Cynthia Jones (Nathaniel), Annette McNabb, Nadine Newcost, LaKeesha Richard, Brittany Williams-Mercer and Tara Ford; God-parents, Claire and Ernie Cabangan and Leslie Charles; his special friend, Lesly; his best friend, Nura Faris; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Jakobi Xavier Mitchell will be held on Saturday, December 7th, 2019 at Mabrie Memorial Mortuary, 5000 Almeda Road, Houston, TX 77004.

Viewing will be from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m. with services following from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m.

Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves, TX with a repass held at Knights of Peter Claver No. 182 Hall, 515 Savannah Ave., Port Arthur TX 77640.

Services are entrusted to Mabrie Memorial Mortuary.
