Two narcotics related arrests occurred earlier this week in a target based on complaints from citizens, Port Arthur Police Chief Tim Duriso said.
PAPD’s Narcotics and Guns Unit, with the assistance of the Texas Department of Public Safety and Drug Enforcement Administration, took part in a sting operation on Tuesday and arrested Javante Bailey, 26, of Port Arthur in the 1200 block of Eighth Street and Logan Banks, 30, of Port Arthur in the 2700 block of Eighth Street.
Both were arrested on suspicion of manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance in separate cases.
The chief said this is something they do throughout the year.
“It’s not something special, not a special operation but something we continuously do,” Duriso said. “We target high level, mid-level and street corner dealers.”
The locations for enforcement are based on complaints from citizens.
Duriso, who spent most of his career with the DEA, made it a primary goal to form state and federal partnerships when he came aboard last September.
Duriso asked the public to report suspicious activity by calling the police department at 409-983-8600.
