Sis. Bernetha Mae Jones Nickles, 93, of Port Arthur, TX passed away Wednesday, November 13, 2019 surrounded by her family.

She was a longtime resident of Port Arthur, a faithful member of Rock Island Baptist Church for more than 60 years.

Sis. Nickles was the owner of Bert’s Beauty Shop until her retirement.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Horace and Lorenza Mitchell Jones; three children, Carl Diles, Sr., Rebecca Diles Blackwell-Giles, and Jimmy Washington; three grandchildren, Carl Diles, Jr., Darren Godfrey and Timijura Broussard; seven sisters and seven brothers.

Sis. Nickles is survived by her children, Carolyn Washington Wright and Ervin Washington both of Port Arthur, TX and Willie Mae Nickles-Broussard of Dallas, TX; 16 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 30 great-great grandchildren; daughter in law, Willie Mae Diles; extended family member, Linda Sallier, both of Port Arthur, TX and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, November 23, 2019 at Rock Island Baptist Church, 549 W. 11th Street, Port Arthur, Texas with visitation from 9 a.m. until service time.

Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
