Police: Suspects flee from Parker Center following aggravated robbery

Two victims of an aggravated robbery that took place at the location of the Lamar State College Port Arthur multipurpose center are safe, but the suspects have not been located, according to Port Arthur Police.

Police were dispatched to 1800 Lakeshore Dr., the address for the Carl Parker Center, at about 7:23 p.m. Friday, which was 23 minutes after tipoff of the Lamar State vs. Baton Rouge Community College basketball game inside the facility. Victims told police they were approached and held at gunpoint by several suspects, who then took a vehicle belonging to one of the victims. The suspects fled the scene, and neither victim was injured, according to police.

The victim’s vehicle was found a short distance away from the location, police added. The suspect’s vehicle is described as a white passenger car.

The Criminal Investigation Division of Port Arthur Police is investigating the matter.
