PHOTOS — PAISD science fair winners

Elementary and middle school students in the Port Arthur Independent School District participated in a district-wide science fair. The awards for the fair were presented Friday morning at DeQueen Elementary School.

Overall winners for the district, pictured from left in the foreground in the top photo, include: Monica Becerra of Thomas Jefferson Middle School, Hayden Mosley of Lincoln Middle School, Madison Roy of DeQueen Elementary, Reniah Knight of Sam Houston Elementary, Milan Meyers of Lakeview Elementary and Gianna Donaldson of Thomas Jefferson Middle School. In the background are PAISD science supervisor Melony Puz, PAISD Superintendent Mark Porterie and PAISD science supervisor L’Tunya Bernard. In the middle photo, Madison’s project explored ‘What material can block a wi-fi signal?’ In the other photo, a science project examines which activator will make the best slime.
