NEDERLAND — About 200 people attended the “Get in the Pink” luncheon Friday at Philpott Toyota, which general manager Darren Granger called a record.

The annual luncheon, held in honor of National Mammography Day, has celebrated breast cancer survivors in Southeast Texas since 2013 and included city and county elected officials and law enforcement officers from across Jefferson County.

Philpott donates $50 for each vehicle sold during October to the Julie Rogers Gift of Life Program, which provides more than 2,100 medically underserved Southeast Texas women with free breast cancer screenings, diagnostic mammograms, ultrasounds and biopsies with access to cancer treatment as needed.
