PORT NECHES — Gather: Paleo Café & Market in Port Neches is moving to a bigger and better location.

The restaurant is moving approximately seven blocks down from its current location at 1811 Magnolia Avenue to 2401 Port Neches Avenue, the old Magnolia Café restaurant.

Co-owner and head pastry chef Jodi Hebert said the move is due to the need for more space and capacity.

“We are busting at the seams here and we have to move,” she said. “We have a lot of regulars and we believe in the idea that if you don’t scale you fail.”

Hebert said the building is visible from the road, and she’s looking forward to that visibility for the first time.

“We are going to move to a new location with better parking, more visibility and keep doing what we’re doing,” she said. “It will have new tables and more room. We’re going to have the same color scheme and make it seem like us as much as possible, just on a bigger scale.”

Co-owner Chrystal Lundy said she is excited for the move and the chance to provide customers with opportunities they didn’t have before.

“It will let us have more opportunity for people that we don’t get to do here because of the size,” she said. “We can start reserving tables and host large party events like showers and benefits.”

Lundy said the space and parking will be the only thing to change, the feel and scheme of the restaurant will stay the same.

No current dates have been set for relocation. Both owners encourage the community to keep up with the process on their Facebook page.

“We don’t know when we will move officially, we have a lot to do,” Hebert said. “We will be keeping people updated with each step that we make by showing people a play-by-play of what we will be doing.

“Whenever it happens we are going to totally switch. We don’t want to be out of business for more than a week, if that.”
