John Clifford, “Jay” Hebert Sr., of Groves, Texas passed away at home at the age of 95.

He was born on July 6, 1924 in Port Arthur, TX to Laurent & Laurina Hebert.

He lived in Groves most of his life. He was employed at Texaco Refinery as a Lab Technician for 41 years before his retirement and was also a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Groves.

He served this country in the 869th Bomb Squadron of the Army Air Core in WWII as a Corporal. He enjoyed crabbing, fishing and watching sports on T.V

A gathering of friends and family will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 8, 2019, at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 9, 2019, at Immaculate Conception-St. Peter Catholic Church with Rev. J.C. Coon, serving as celebrant.

Rite of Committal will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.

John is preceded in death by his parent’s; his wife, Margaret Hebert and his son, John Clifford Hebert Jr.; and sister, Mary Mazel Doré.

John is survived by his son, David Wayne Hebert and wife Patti of Nederland, Texas and daughter-in-law Brenda Hebert of Warren, Texas.

He is also leaves behind grandchildren, John D. Hebert and wife, Nutshara of Thailand, James D. Hebert and wife Sarah of Angleton, Texas, Jaime Hebert Oldbury and husband Jonathan of Mauriceville, Texas, Bethany Hebert Stevens and husband Justin of Port Arthur, Texas, Jeremy Hebert and wife Amanda of Orange, Texas; great-grandchildren, McKenzie, Madison, Ethan, Jacob, Mason, George, Hannah, and Nathan; sisters, Charlene Theriot, Barbara (Bobbie) Beaugh and Emily Sexton, and a host of nieces and nephews to cherish his memories.
