The city of Port Arthur has established two hotlines for residents who have sustained damage to their property as a result of flooding from Tropical Depression Imelda, city manager Ron Burton said.

“They can call those hotlines and we will take their name and address and send out inspectors to do some sort of damage assessment,” Burton said.

The numbers to call are 409-983-8135 or 409-983-8133.

Burton said he is aware that there was flooding in the Montrose area and the Port Acres area of town.

The city is also doing an assessment of city equipment and all city buildings.

The city was spared the brunt of Imelda, which hit just two years after Hurricane Harvey’s devastating flooding. The city broke a record for rainfall on Thursday with 11.63 inches, recorded at the Jack Brooks Regional Airport.
