“The end of the first six weeks will be adjusted to end on Tuesday, September 24th,” Gauthier said.

Due to the continued threat of flooding across Southeast Texas, Lamar State College Port Arthur will also close its campus on Friday.

Public Information Coordinator Gerry Dickert said there would be no classes, and faculty and staff should not report for work.

“The safety of our students, faculty and staff is our first priority at LSCPA,” Dickert said. “With this in mind, administrators will continue to watch the weather and flooding situation across the region and make any additional decisions as necessary.”

After gathering feedback from Nederland employees and the conditions remaining in the community, Nederland ISD said it would be closed Friday.

School will resume with regular hours on Monday, September 23rd.

Port Arthur Independent School District said it surveyed employees and the results are that it would be a hardship to reopen school Friday. Therefore, the PAISD will remain closed Friday and reopen on Monday, Sept 23.

All Bob Hope Schools will be closed Friday, Sept. 20.
