Registration for Sabine Showdown fishing tourney ongoing

Late tournament registrations are being accepted for the Sabine Showdown Fishing Tournament.
More than 50 teams have signed up for the tournament, which is to be held Saturday with weigh-in at the Carl Parker Center from 2-5 p.m. More than $15,000 will be awarded in three categories with anglers traveling from across Southeast Texas and Southwest Louisiana to participate. A drawing for a $2,800 offshore trip will take place, and a Sabine Showdown Cook-Off champion will be named as well.
Proceeds will be used to provide scholarships, purchase and maintain training equipment, and other needs at Lamar State College Port Arthur.
