Stacy Market suspect ID’d; police say knife displayed during robbery

Port Arthur police identified Jacoby Robinson, 23, of Port Arthur as the suspect in Friday’s robbery of Stacy Market.

Police were called at 3:39 p.m. to the store located at 3248 Gulfway Drive after a man and the store clerk got into an altercation in front of the business, PAPD Det. Mike Hebert said.

“After the altercation the suspect walked into the store, took out a knife and took things from behind the counter,”Hebert said. “Patrolmen found him in the 3100 block of 14th Street and arrested him for robbery.”

Hebert said he does not believe the man made any threatening mannerisms with the weapon.

Robinson was brought to the Jefferson County Correctional Facility where he was charged with the robbery.

According to the Jefferson County Corrections Inmate Roster, Robinson was being held on $150,000 bond and a mental health hold was placed on him.

PAPD’s Criminal Investigations Division is handling the case.
