Blaine Girourard of Port Neches became the latest player to score a hole-in-one at Babe Zaharias. Girouard, playing the blue tees, sank a 4 iron from 183 yards on Aug. 2. Witnesses were Tre Elmore, Randy Hancock, Christian Trang and Brian Frederick.
In the Monday Senior 50 Plus Game at Zaharias, the team of Jimmy Cady, Dwayne Morvant, Rusty Hicks and Paul Duplantis scored a sweep, winning the front with minus 6 and the back with minus 3.

Stroud, by the way, finished the regular season with $1,075,552 in official earnings while Landry’s $80,600 check from the Wyndham boosted him to $833,639. It’s all gravy now for Landry, considering that three weeks ago he did not seem likely to reach the playoffs.
A third place finish at the John Deere, highlighted by a clutch 12-foot putt on the 72nd hole, then the T19 at the Wyndham elevated him from 171 to 123. He made it inside the top 125 by 12 points. …
