Back-to-School Youth Explosion looks to help 1,500 children with supplies

The Willie Carter Outreach Center and its community partners are sponsoring the 19th annual back to school fair — Youth Explosion — from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Carl Parker Center, 1800 Lakeshore Drive.
The event is free to all Port Arthur Independent School District school age children who must be present to receive free book bags, school supplies, clothing, light lunch for everyone attending and resource information for parents for a successful start to the new school year.
Organizers expect to have supplies for the first 1,500 children who attend.
There will be resource tables, food and drinks and more. Children must be present with an adult.
