Rosa Mae Bobb-Chavis was born March 13, 1928 in Rosa, Louisiana to the late Adam and Lillian Bobb.

She was the eldest of three children.

She departed this life on Sunday, July 21, 2019 at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas after a brief illness.

Rosa was a faithful member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

She worked at Port Arthur Independent School District for twenty-seven years before she retired.

Rosa is preceded in death by her parents; her siblings, Ruby Hunters and Dorothy Jackson; husband of 70 years Sylvester Sr.; son, Sylvester Jr.; and her grandson Ashton Goings.

She leaves three children to cherish her loving memory, Cynthia Goings (Paul), Leonard Chavis (Norie) of Port Arthur, TX, Jessica Jones (Karl, Sr.) of Houston, TX; six grandsons; three great-grandchildren; a dear and close friend Bea Branch; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, July 27, 2019 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with visitation from 8 a.m. until service time.

Entombment will follow in Live Oak Cemetery.
